Who shows up

David Palacios.
That’s the whole company.

No dispatcher, no rotating technician, no call center. When you text this number I’m the one who answers it, quotes it, drives out, does the work, and comes back if something isn’t right.

The story

Why mobile, and why e-bikes

E-bikes broke the bike shop model, and nobody really adjusted. A shop is built to move bikes through a repair stand — twenty minutes each, next one up. That works fine for a derailleur adjustment. It does not work for tracing a wiring harness to find a single corroded pin, which takes forty minutes and produces a $45 invoice.

So shops mostly stopped doing it. They’ll service the electrical on bikes they sold, under warranty, and decline everything else. Meanwhile the fastest-growing part of the market is direct-to-consumer — Rad Power, Aventon, Lectric, Ride1Up, Velotric — bikes with no dealer anywhere, sold to people whose only support option is a box and a two-week wait.

That’s the gap. I can spend forty minutes on a connector because I’m at your house and the bike isn’t going anywhere until it works. And because I don’t have a lease, a showroom, or a floor of inventory to cover, I can charge what the labor is actually worth instead of what the overhead demands.

To be written with David

This is where his actual background goes — how long he’s been wrenching, what he did before this, how he got into e-bikes specifically, what he rides himself, and why he lives in San Clemente. Every high-converting site in this category has a real founder story with a real name and a real face; the ones without it read as faceless. Two or three honest paragraphs beat anything invented.

What I can tell you now: I work on every brand, I do the electrical half that many mechanics decline, I publish every price including the trip fee, and I warranty my labor for 90 days. If something I touched isn’t right, I come back and fix it — no trip fee, no argument, in any zone.

How I work

Six things I won’t bend on

I measure before I replace

Parts-cannon repair is how e-bike owners end up with an $800 battery that fixed nothing. Every electrical diagnosis here produces a number — voltage, current draw, sensor output, capacity against rated watt-hours — and the number decides what gets replaced.

I stop and call before adding anything

If I find something worse than what you called about, you hear the finding and the price before I touch it — including the option to say no and have me do only what you originally asked for.

Every price is published

Including the trip fee, which almost nobody in this business will put on a website. If a job isn't on the list, I quote it before I start. No surprises at the end.

I ride it before I hand it back

A brake that feels fine in the stand and a brake that feels fine at 20 mph on a hill are different brakes. Every job ends with a test ride and a walkthrough of what changed.

I tell you when it isn't worth fixing

Some bikes are past it, and some repairs cost more than the bike is worth. I'd rather lose the job and keep the customer than take money for work I'd argue against.

I'll tell you what I can't do

Bosch and some Shimano systems lock firmware and certain diagnostics to authorized dealers. I do every mechanical and electrical repair on those bikes, and I say so plainly on the rare occasion something has to go through a dealer.

The van

A shop that parks in your driveway

Own power, own lighting, own compressed air, own water. All I need from you is a flat spot about the size of a parking space. Driveway, street, garage, courtyard, office lot, or a turnout on a Laguna hillside — all of it works.
